Skinny jeans are everywhere.  Different washes, different colors, frayed hem, distressed, etc. etc.  Have we become so caught up in the trends that bootcut and straight leg denim have become the red-headed stepchildren of bottoms.  Not for me! Even thought I own several pairs of skinny jeans, I still like to have a mixture of silhouettes in my wardrobe since I am bottom-heavy.  I have a long torso and shorter, bulkier legs which means bootcut and straight leg jeans fit my body type much better than skinny jeans.  Since I’ve become more in-tune and more accepting of my body type over the past few years, I am definitely more conscious about the brands that fit me best.  Kut from the Kloth jeans are by far my favorite brand that fits my curves best.  Below is one of two looks that I’m featuring today that complement my curves and I hope give you some inspiration in finding the perfect fit so you can feel your best!

I love the layered look with fitted vests and a bootcut jean is best to pair with this look.  The longer silhouette in a bootcut pant creates a slimmer look vs. a skinny jean which would put more emphasis on my curves.  It’s not uncommon to see me around town donning this look often.  I love the lace detail in this fabulous hoodie (all clothing is from Stitch Fix) and heeled booties are from Sam Edelman (Links below):

Black Bootcut Jeans:  Kut from the Kloth Natalie Bootcut (Note:  I am wearing the 14W but they are a bit big since I’ve lost some weight – they also make these in regular sizes which I may purchase since I love them so much!)

Lace Hoodie:  Lace hoodie:  Stacatto from StitchFix

Quilted Vest:  Skies are Blue from StitchFix (Note – this runs super small!  I am wearing a XXL)

Booties:  Sam Edelman
